Cam Le Electricity worker, Da Nang PC instructs people on electrical safety
To ensure electrical safety, Da Nang PC recommends that customers should check and repair the electrical system defects before the storm season; do not let electrical wires leak onto roofs, houses, trees, and fences; do not install electrical equipment in places at risk of flooding or humidity; and install high-quality anti-leakage breakers in the house.
In particular, absolutely do not take shelter under electric poles or near electrical works when it rains or storms; do not touch the wires, ground wires, meter boxes, and other structures. When people discover broken power lines, fallen trees on power lines or power stations, collapsed pole foundations, etc., do not let people or livestock get close and immediately report to the power management unit or local authorities and police. At the same time, do not move in flooded areas with power lines close to the water surface; do not tie livestock and boats to power poles.
People also need to pay attention to operating the switches and main circuit breakers in the house when rain floods the electrical cabinets and outlets to avoid electric leakage leading to accidents.
Mr. Nguyen Thai Hung, Head of the Safety Department, Da Nang PC said that the company has also in coordination with wards and communes in the city promoted electrical safety to people; organized inspections of construction works, billboards at risk of falling on power lines, vulnerable areas, locations at risk of violating the safety corridor of the power grid during the rainy and stormy season, points where residential meter wires are tangled and unsafe for timely handling. If a flood or storm affects the power system, the company will review all electrical safety conditions in the area; inform local authorities and people of the information; only energize when ensuring that the power lines and electrical works have been inspected and safely handled, ensuring that no electrical accidents occur.
