EVN and GIZ meet to launch technical support project on implementing Career Development Mentoring Program for EVN Women

On 12 August 2024, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) met to launch the technical support project on developing and piloting the Career Development Mentoring Program for EVN female staff funded by GIZ. The meeting took place in both offline and online formats.
Speaking at the meeting, the Head of EVN International Relations Department Phan Minh Tuan affirmed that GIZ has always been a strong partner for EVN over the past time, especially in the context of the energy transition taking place globally, GIZ has supported EVN in areas such as engineering, technology, expert exchange and issues related to human resource development, enhancing the role of women in equitable energy transition, digital transformation, etc.
EVN and GIZ meet on 12 August 2024 to launch a technical support project for implementing Career Development Mentoring Program for EVN women.
Mr. Markus Bissel - Project Director of, the GIZ Energy Support Program said that to support the implementation of this program, GIZ has invited two consultants to participate in the project, including one domestic consultant and one international consultant - who have a lot of experience in building and implementing the Career Mentoring Program to participate in building the project effectively.
Accordingly, the technical assistance project to develop and pilot the Career Mentoring Program for EVN female staff will be implemented in 2 phases. Phase 1 (from July 2024 to 31 October 2024) will conduct a needs assessment, develop a mentoring program, and policy mechanisms to ensure the program operates sustainably, and apply information technology in project implementation activities.

Phase 2 of the project is expected to be implemented in 6 months of 2025, with the selection of mentors and mentees and the implementation of the pilot program at EVN or EVN's Corporations (the pilot scale will be announced when the survey results in phase 1 are available). The project implementation funding source is sponsored by the GIZ Energy Support Program in Vietnam.
The project's target is to build the first advisory program and advisory team for EVN on a pilot scale, from which EVN can perfect the model for widespread application in EVN to improve the professional and leadership capacity of female officers and employees.
EVN affirmed that it will always accompany and support GIZ experts to smoothly implement each stage of the project, actively providing complete data for both sides to build and implement the Career Advisory Program for EVN female staff to ensure the set goals.
