EVN meets with Counselor of Japanese Embassy in Vietnam

During a working session on October 14th, EVN's Vice President, Nguyen Tai Anh, discussed opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector between EVN and Japanese enterprises with the Counselor of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam.

At the meeting, the Counselor of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, Fukuhara Teppei, expressed his pleasure in visiting and working with Vietnam Electricity (EVN).

Counselor Fukuhara Teppei gave an overview of the outcomes from a study tour to Japan organized by AOTS, which included EVN's participation. He also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of electricity transmission, renewable energy, and other EVN projects.

Counselor Teppei also expressed his desire to better understand Vietnam’s energy development strategies, particularly EVN’s plans, in the coming period.

 On behalf of EVN, Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh expressed gratitude for Japan's support to EVN over the years and hoped that Japan would continue to assist in technical and financial capacity-building as well as the adoption of new technologies for renewable energy development in Vietnam.

Mr. Tai Anh also emphasized EVN’s eagerness to learn from the experience and innovative approaches of Japanese power companies, especially in energy-saving practices and policy implementation in the electricity sector.

During the meeting, both sides also exchanged and discussed technological solutions aimed at ensuring energy security, facilitating the energy transition, and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

The leaders of both sides agreed to continue detailed discussions to foster cooperation in the near future.
