Generators of Phu My Thermal Power Plant: Always ready to meet system's mobilization mode

Facing with complicated weather conditions and the difficult and challenging situation of the power supply system in the first half of 2024, Phu My Thermal Power Company (PMTPC) has made plans to ensure power production, closely monitor the conditions of market electricity and gas supply, strengthen control over technical management and operation of plants, strive to compete in production, and promptly meet the requirements of the national power system.
Phu My Thermal Power Plant's generators are always highly available
In recent months, Phu My Thermal Power Plant's generators have not been mobilized much due to the system prioritizing power generation from renewable energy and BOT sources. The total backup downtime in the second quarter of 2024 was 14,448 hours. The total number of generator start-up times in the second quarter and the cumulative number in 2024 were 58 and 95 times. Phu My Power Plant's generators did not have any equipment incidents or abnormalities, and the availability coefficient met the assigned target.
In the first 6 months of the year, the cumulative electricity output of PMTPC was 4,071 million kWh, equivalent to 48.92% of the annual plan assigned by EVNGENCO3, of which 2,217 million kWh was produced in the second quarter of 2024, reaching 90.56% of the quarterly plan. Of which, the electricity output operating on LNG gas in the first half of the year was 321.70 million kWh. The electricity output operated by oil due to the test run after the overhaul of the GT24 and GT25 generators was 0.767 million kWh, with the corresponding operating hours being 5.77 hours and 1.83 hours.
The company strives to ensure production according to Power System mobilization
To complete the plan for the third quarter of 2024 and the last months of the year, PMTPC has proposed solutions such as: Continuing to ensure the highest availability of generators to be ready to respond according to the A0 mobilization mode; Strengthening the inspection and evaluation of equipment to promptly detect and handle abnormalities that do not affect power generation operations and Regularly monitoring the operation of power plants in the Southern region, power plants using the same NCS gas source and the SCL schedule of power plants on the system to assess the electricity market situation, develop appropriate and effective bidding plans in the condition of high gas prices and in accordance with PVGas' gas supply situation.
