Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with ministries and branches to successfully implement the Project to implement the Political Declaration on the Just Energy Transition Partnership, associated with promoting the development of renewable energy, using energy economically and efficiently, contributing to achieving the target of net zero emissions by 2050.
From now until 2030, Ho Chi Minh City will attract investors, businesses, and people to participate in the process of just energy transition, promoting technology transfer; developing the renewable energy industry, especially renewable energy equipment manufacturing industry, equipment of power storage, CO2 recovery, absorption, storage, and use; promotes the production of green hydrogen, green ammonia.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City upgrades and builds smart, advanced, and modern electricity production, transmission, storage, distribution, and operation infrastructure, capable of large-scale integration of renewable energy sources; enhances electrification, developing human resources; gradually masters modern technology, moving towards producing equipment serving the development of the renewable energy sector; improves the management capacity of the energy sector to reach an advanced level.
At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City identifies risk mitigation measures to protect businesses, investors, workers, and poor and vulnerable households in the energy transition process; organizes capacity-improving courses to seize investment and employment opportunities from the renewable energy development ecosystem; creates consensus and active participation of people, businesses, and communities in the economical and efficient use of energy, etc.
After 2030, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to develop the renewable energy industry, especially the renewable energy equipment manufacturing, power storage equipment, CO2 recovery, absorption, storage, and use; promote the production of green hydrogen, green ammonia, etc. Ho Chi Minh City raises awareness and strengthens coordination between ministries, branches, and cities in managing and operating urban development to respond to climate change.
