According to statistics from the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Soc Trang Provincial Police, in the first 8 months of 2024, there were 8 fires in the province, caused by incidents in the electrical system and equipment, most of which were caused by subjective actions of electricity users. Although there were no casualties, the fires also strongly warned about fire and explosion safety work among the people.

Soc Trang PC identified that propaganda on electrical safety among the people is always a top priority task, helping to prevent power grid incidents and minimize electrical accidents among the people. Along with ensuring safe working conditions for employees, Soc Trang PC has deployed to its affiliated and related units to coordinate with local authorities, Cultural - Sports and Broadcasting Centers of districts/towns/cities to promote propaganda, warnings, and instructions on how to prevent electrical accidents and practice electrical safety in each area under its management to limit damage to people and property of customers during electricity use in many forms.

Soc Trang PC has also established a working group to inspect each production, service business establishment, and household in Soc Trang city. Specifically, the company inspects the safety of electrical systems and equipment such as circuit breakers, switches, electrical cabinets, panels, and outlets; at the same time, instructs customers to install electrical equipment properly; absolutely not install electrical equipment in wet and flooded places, do not place electrical equipment that generates heat near flammable and explosive objects; recommends people to not build houses or restaurants in the power grid safety corridor.

Through inspections, most households and establishments have raised awareness of fire and explosion prevention in family life as well as ensuring fire prevention and fighting in production and business. However, there are still shortcomings that need to be overcome to avoid the unsafe fire and explosion risk from electrical systems and equipment.

Through inspections, reminders, and instructions for power customers to improve their knowledge of fire and explosion prevention, Soc Trang PC also strengthens propaganda and recommends that units, businesses, and families need to improve their responsibility to use electricity safely, economically, and effectively; turn off devices when not in use; regularly check the electrical system in the house to promptly replace damaged devices, and fix defects that pose unsafe electrical risk.
