Son La Power Company improves quality of female human resources

Son La Power Company (Son La PC) has 875 staff and employees; female workers account for 22.62%. In recent years, Son La PC has focused on doing a good job of the advancement of women and gender equality, associated with production and business tasks, creating conditions for female workers to study, practice, and improve their professional qualifications, contributing to the completion of the unit's production and business tasks.
Mr. Tran Duy Trinh, Director of Son La PC and head of the unit's Department for the Advancement of Women and Gender Equality, said: With the efforts and commitments of Son La PC's leaders in promoting gender equality and developing female human resources. In particular, from 2021 to 2024, implementing the theme "Women of the Northern Power Corporation from awareness to action in digital transformation", demonstrating the strategy towards sustainable development, accompanying the Advancement of Women, creating a fair and equal environment, supporting female staff to promote their capacity and strengths at work.

Son La PC cares about female staff planning; every year, Son La PC reviews and plans female staff for management positions; from 2021 to 2026, the planning rate of female staff reaches 16.6%. In addition, its subordinate units strengthen training and propose female staff with sufficient qualifications and capacity to supplement the planning. Currently, 9/88 of managers of departments and power company branches are female. Son La PC continues to train, coach, and develop female employees in planning for positions requiring high professional and technical.
To improve the quality of human resources, the company creates conditions for female employees to study, practice, and improve their professional qualifications; and select female employees meeting the requirements to participate in short-term and long-term training courses. From 2021 to 2024, the proportion of female employees with university degrees or higher reached 41.7%; of which 9 female employees have master's degrees, 80 female employees have university degrees, an increase of 8.7% compared to the previous period. In addition, 100% of female employees participate in short-term training courses, encourage research, and promote technical innovation initiatives.
In the past 4 years, Son La PC has had 27 initiatives by female authors recognized at the company level, and 4 initiatives by female authors recognized at the Corporation level; a group of female authors won the encouragement prize in the "Creative EVN Women" contest organized by Vietnam Electricity.
